GENDERLESS
My inspiration theme was body modification and body transformation IN RELATION to gender
“The body is the physical link between ourselves, our souls, and the outside world. It is the medium through which we most directly project ourselves in social life; our use and presentation of it say precise things about the society in which we live, the degree of our integration within that society, and the controls which society exerts over the inner man “
-Victoria Ebin
The modifications are designed on the human body but at the same time by the contours of the body.
The theme of the design course was GENDERLESS- we had the mission to design that is suitable for all gender.
Inspired by the modified body, I decided to design my genderless collection in an invited form for unisex clothes: I didn't want to blur the gender characteristics of the body; I wanted specifically reveal and highlight the areas that are parallel Flattering and sexually arousing For both genders.
Furthermore, the pattern and design cuts were nonconventional, according to the traditional rules of pattern-making for clothes. Body modification is always done in relation to the given natural body, so even in the construction of the cuts, it was essential to me to reshape the body in link to it and not concerning traditional methods of patterns.
Also, use various techniques like scarring, implants, and piercings implicitly but present. While I give a place of beauty and aesthetics to a population group that is sometimes pushed to the margins and receives contemptuous treatment from the society that leads a conventional life. I choose to use natural materials that correspond to the human body. The clothes are decorated with details that fit piercing and tattooing. To create curves that relate to scarification art and implants.
